SHOR Health

Terms of Service

SHOR HEALTH LLC · Effective 25 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-25

1. Who we are

SHOR Health is operated by SHOR HEALTH LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company, 2227 Amber Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19125. You can reach us at help@shorhealth.com.

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and SHOR HEALTH LLC ("SHOR", "we", "us"). By creating an account, giving consent to receive text messages, or using SHOR, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use SHOR.

Important notice: please read Section 14 carefully. It contains an arbitration agreement, a class action waiver, and a jury trial waiver that affect your legal rights.

2. What SHOR is, and what it is not

SHOR is a support service for the family members and friends of people affected by substance use or a mental health condition. We send short supportive text messages, provide practical guidance you can use in the moment, offer brief educational material, and offer a private group you invite yourself.

SHOR is not medical or clinical care. It is not therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment. No one at SHOR is acting as your clinician, and nothing SHOR sends is medical advice.

SHOR is not a crisis service. We do not monitor messages in real time and we cannot respond to emergencies. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. For emotional support or a crisis, call or text 988.

SHOR is for you. It is not a tool for monitoring, tracking, or managing another person's recovery, and it does not provide information about anyone else.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to use SHOR. You must be the subscriber or the customary user of the phone number you provide.

4. Your account and your phone number

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for anything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at help@shorhealth.com if you believe someone else has access to it.

If you stop using a phone number, tell us. Numbers are reassigned, and a stranger should not receive messages meant for you.

5. The text message program

5.1 SHOR HEALTH LLC operates a recurring text message program called SHOR. Participation is voluntary and is never a condition of purchasing anything.

5.2 Message frequency. Approximately two messages per day, plus occasional service messages such as account or billing notices. Frequency may vary.

5.3 What we send. Short supportive messages written for family members, prompts you can reply to, notices about your private Circle, and links to your account. We do not name medications in any message. Messages never reference or disclose information about any other person.

5.4 How to stop. Reply STOP to any message to cancel. You will receive one confirmation message and then no further messages. Reply START to rejoin. Reply HELP for help, or email help@shorhealth.com.

5.5 Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's standard rates apply to messages you send and receive. SHOR does not charge for the messages themselves.

5.6 Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your device, and we cannot guarantee that any message arrives.

5.7 Supported carriers. Most major United States carriers are supported. Carrier support may change without notice.

5.8 Quiet hours. We do not send program messages outside daytime hours in your local time zone.

5.9 Crisis language. If a message you send contains language suggesting immediate risk, our system sends an automatic reply pointing you to 911 and 988. This is an automated response, not a person, and it does not mean anyone has reviewed your message. Because it is a safety message, it may be sent even if you have previously replied STOP.

These SMS program terms are also published on their own at SMS Terms. Your consent to receive messages, and our privacy practices, are described further in our Privacy Policy.

6. The Circle

Your private Circle holds up to eight people, including you. Invited members do not pay, and never need a subscription of their own.

Anything you deliberately share into your Circle is visible to the people in it. Your private check-ins are not shared with your Circle. Choose who you invite carefully, and remember that people you invite can see what you share and can talk about it outside SHOR. We cannot control what they do with it.

You can remove someone from your Circle at any time.

7. Subscriptions, trial, and billing

7.1 Free trial. New members receive seven days of full access at no cost. We do not ask for a payment method to start the trial. At the end of the trial, messages stop and we send you one message inviting you to continue. You are never charged automatically at the end of a trial.

7.2 Plans. SHOR is $14.99 per month or $129 per year. Both include your private Circle of up to eight people, and everyone you invite joins free. Prices are in US dollars and may change with notice; a change never applies to a term you have already paid for.

7.3 Billing. Payments are processed by Stripe. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term until you cancel.

7.4 Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account or by emailing help@shorhealth.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term, and you keep access until then. Step-by-step instructions are on our Cancellation page.

7.5 Refunds. If you cancel within 14 days of your first paid charge, email us and we will refund it. Beyond that, payments are not refundable except where the law requires.

7.6 Sponsored access. An organization may pay for your access. If it does, your relationship for these Terms is still with SHOR. Because that organization gave you the code you used, it can see that you redeemed it: your name, your phone number, and whether you are still using SHOR. It never receives anything you write. See Section 10.

7.7 Gifts. You can buy one year of the SHOR family program for another person and pass along a code. A gift code covers one year of the program for one person. Gift codes never expire. A code is not redeemable for cash and has no cash value. The recipient must complete signup and give their own consent to receive text messages; a gift does not enroll anyone automatically, and we never contact the recipient until they sign up themselves. Unused codes are not refundable. Gifts are for the recipient's personal use.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use SHOR to harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone; to send unlawful content; to interfere with the service; or to attempt to access another person's account or data. Do not use SHOR to gather information about another person.

We may suspend or end access that violates these Terms.

9. What you provide

You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to use it to operate the service for you.

We may use information about how SHOR is used to improve the service, and to report to organizations as described in Section 10. We do not sell your information.

10. Organizations and sponsored access

Where a county, fund, employer, treatment provider, or other organization sponsors access, it can see who redeemed the codes its own staff handed out. That means your name, your phone number, and whether you are still using SHOR.

It never receives anything you write. Not a message, not a check-in, not a survey answer, not a Circle post, and not an individual score on any measure. There is no way for staff to ask for it and no administrator who can turn it on.

If you signed up on your own rather than with an organization's code, no organization sees you at all.

Where we report grouped figures, we do not show them for groups too small to protect the people in them.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and what we do with it, and forms part of these Terms.

12. Disclaimers

SHOR is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that SHOR will be uninterrupted, that messages will arrive, or that it will produce any particular result. SHOR makes no claim that using it will improve your health or anyone else's.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SHOR HEALTH LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of SHOR.

Our total liability for any claim relating to SHOR will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or five hundred dollars.

Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

14. Governing law and dispute resolution

Please read this section carefully. It affects how disputes are resolved.

14.1 Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service, and each party consents to their jurisdiction.

14.2 Arbitration agreement. You and SHOR HEALTH LLC agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, including the validity, enforceability, or scope of this arbitration agreement, will be resolved exclusively through final and binding individual arbitration rather than in court. Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, which are available at www.adr.org. The arbitration will take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or at another mutually agreed location, or by telephone or video conference if permitted by the AAA rules. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction. Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights or confidential information.

14.3 Class action waiver. You and SHOR HEALTH LLC agree that any arbitration or court proceeding will be conducted only on an individual basis and not as a class action, collective action, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in or recover relief from a class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. If for any reason a claim proceeds in court rather than arbitration, you and SHOR HEALTH LLC each waive any right to a class action or class-wide arbitration.

14.4 Jury trial waiver. If for any reason a dispute proceeds in court rather than arbitration, you and SHOR HEALTH LLC each waive any right to a jury trial.

14.5 Small claims exception. Notwithstanding Section 14.2, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court if the claim qualifies and remains in small claims court.

14.6 Opt-out right. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to SHOR HEALTH LLC, by email to help@shorhealth.com, or by mail to 2227 Amber Street, Philadelphia, PA 19125, within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms. Your notice must include your name, the email address or mobile number associated with your account, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of the arbitration agreement. If you opt out, neither party waives its right to a jury trial or class action.

14.7 Severability of dispute provisions. If any part of this Section 14 is found unenforceable, the remainder will continue to apply, except that if the class action waiver in Section 14.3 is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) must be severed from any arbitration and may proceed in court.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will give notice by text or email before it takes effect. Continuing to use SHOR after that means you accept the updated Terms. The version and effective date at the top of this page always show what is current.

16. Termination

You may stop using SHOR at any time by replying STOP and cancelling your subscription. We may suspend or end access for a violation of these Terms, or if we discontinue the service, in which case we will refund any unused prepaid portion.

Sections 9, 12, 13, 14 and 16 survive termination.
