Privacy Policy
SHOR HEALTH LLC · Effective 25 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-25
1. The short version
You are a family member trying to get through something hard. Here is the whole policy in six lines.
- We keep your phone number, what you tell us about yourself, and a record that you agreed to receive texts.
- We keep the text messages you send us, so a person can review anything that may be a crisis and so we have an accurate record of opt-outs. We never share them outside SHOR or use them for ads.
- If an organization gave you the code you signed up with, it can see your name, your number, and whether you are still here. It never sees a word you write.
- We do not sell your information. Ever.
- We are not a healthcare provider and we do not receive information about you from one.
- You can leave at any time, and ask us to delete what we hold.
The rest of this page is the detail.
2. Who this covers
SHOR HEALTH LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company, 2227 Amber Street, Philadelphia, PA 19125. Questions: help@shorhealth.com.
This policy covers shorhealth.com, the SHOR web application, and the SHOR text message program.
3. What we collect
You give us:
- Your mobile phone number
- Your first name, or whatever you choose to be called
- Your time zone, so we do not text you in the middle of the night
- Your message preferences
You create by using SHOR:
- Check-ins you record
- Anything you deliberately post into your Circle
- Answers to questions we ask you, including the Perceived Stress Scale and the SHOR Family Impact Check
- Written reflections you choose to save
- Which lessons and resources you opened
Messages you send us. We keep the text messages you send to SHOR, including your replies and any message our safety screen flags. We keep them so a person can review messages that may indicate a crisis, to keep an accurate record of opt-outs, and to understand how SHOR is working. The content of your messages is never shared with treatment providers, sponsor organizations, or anyone outside SHOR, and is never used for advertising.
Messages you send in our website support chat. If you use the chat on our site, we keep the conversation so a person can review how our support answered, improve it, and check on messages that may indicate a crisis. Chat conversations are never shared with treatment providers, sponsor organizations, or anyone outside SHOR, and are never used for advertising.
We record automatically:
- A consent record: the exact wording you agreed to, when, the version, your IP address and browser
- Whether each message we sent was delivered, and whether you replied
- Basic technical logs needed to run and secure the service
Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
4. What we do not collect
This section is as important as the one above.
- We do not collect information about the person you are supporting. We do not ask about them, and we do not want it.
- We do not receive information about you from treatment providers. A provider may hand you a card. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not tell it whether you signed up.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not use tracking pixels or advertising cookies.
5. How we use what we collect
To send you the messages you asked for. To operate your account and your Circle. To take payment. To keep the service secure. To respond when you contact us. To meet legal and carrier obligations, including proof that you consented. And, in aggregate form with nothing identifying anyone, to understand whether SHOR is working and to improve it.
6. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf under contract:
| Provider | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Telnyx | Sending and receiving text messages |
| Stripe | Payments |
| Supabase | Database and account storage |
| Vercel | Website and application hosting |
| Anthropic | Generating website support chat replies |
We use Anthropic, an AI service provider, to generate support chat replies. Your chat messages are sent to Anthropic to produce each response. Anthropic processes them on our behalf and does not use them to train its models.
We also share information where the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or in connection with a sale or merger of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply until you are told otherwise.
Mobile information is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text message originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the service providers above, who use it only to deliver our messages.
7. If an organization is paying for your access
A county, fund, employer, or treatment provider may sponsor your access. If so:
- The organization can see who redeemed the codes its own staff handed out: your name, your phone number, and whether you are still using SHOR.
- It never receives anything you have written. Not a message, not a check-in, not a survey answer, not a Circle post.
- It never receives an individual score on any measure. Outcome reporting is grouped, at site level only.
- No grouped figure is shown for fewer than five people, and where reporting one small figure would reveal another, both are withheld.
- If you signed up on your own, no organization sees you at all.
Your relationship is with SHOR. Not with them.
8. Your Circle
Your private Circle holds up to eight people, including you. They can see what you deliberately share there. Your private check-ins are never shared with your Circle. We cannot control what people you invite do with what they see, so invite carefully.
9. Your choices
- Stop the texts. Reply STOP to any message.
- See what we hold. Email help@shorhealth.com and we will send it to you.
- Correct it. Ask us and we will fix it.
- Delete it. Ask us and we will delete your account and the information we hold, except records we must keep by law, such as proof of consent and transaction records.
- Take it with you. Ask and we will provide it in a portable format.
- Nothing to opt out of on selling or sharing, because we do not do either.
We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these. We respond within 45 days.
To make a request, email help@shorhealth.com from the email on your account, or contact us from your enrolled phone number. If we cannot verify a request, we may not be able to act on it.
10. How long we keep things
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Incoming message text | Up to 12 months, then deleted |
| Messages flagged by our safety screen | Up to 2 years, as part of our safety records |
| Website chat conversations | Up to 90 days, then deleted |

11. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to people who need it to run SHOR. Our text message webhooks verify cryptographic signatures so that only genuine messages are processed.
No service can promise perfect security. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as required by law.
12. Children
SHOR is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email help@shorhealth.com and we will delete it.
13. Where your information is held
SHOR is operated in the United States and your information is processed here.
14. Changes
We will post any update here with a new effective date and version. If a change is material, we will tell you by text or email before it takes effect.
